Patient Specific Total Knee replacements

25 January 2013

Both Drs Von Bormann and Munting have had a long history of interest in perfecting their outcomes and results with respect to knee replacement surgery. Progress has been made from computer assisted on table surgery to preoperative planning based on patient specific knee models generated from computer scans and digital xrays of the index knee and limb. Using this information the surgery is planned on computer and the data transferred to templates made to fit the patient and guide accurate shaping, size and fixation of the new knee, thus guaranteeing a perfect result.
Both surgeons use the Visionaire system from Smith and Nephew.
