Dr Michael Bartman
Dr Bartman studied at the University of Pretoria and qualified in 1992. After spending 3 years in London as a junior doctor he joined the orthopaedic training programme at Groote Schuur Hospital in 1997 and qualified in 2001.
Having been head of orthopaedic surgery at Somerset hospital in Cape Town for 9 years, he is now head of orthopaedic surgery at Paarl provincial hospital. He has a part time practice at the Cape Town Orthopaedic Clinic to concentrate on his specialist interests. Dr Bartman’s main interest lies in Foot and ankle surgery. He also does lower limb deformity correction and arthroplasty, Paediatric orthopaedic surgery and trauma.
He holds an honarary lecturer position at UCT and is on the AO Trauma faculty educating orthopaedic surgeons in training.
